Hey, My name is chloe and I am travelling with my husband and will be coming into Cozumel on August 18th by 9:00am.
I wanted to book a tour to see the Whale sharks or even a private tour if possible. We would be willing to meet you or shuttle to wherever needed.
Since our cruise does not get in until later morning, I am willing for any options you may have or if you know someone who could help us. Thank you!
Sorry for the late response, we just figuring out why the message didn’t get to us on time.
The whale shark is not recommended for cruise ship travelers as the short time you stay at Cozumel, as you mentioned will be arriving at Cozumel at 9:00 am is late to start this tour from there, that you must take the ferry shuttle at 9 am, to playa del Carmen.
Starting a pickup at 9:45 am at Playa del Carmen port in a private service could be complicated but possible.
You will be transferred to Punta Sam north of Cancun ( around 2 hours according to traffic conditions) to start the tour at 11:30 am
Then a 40 to 60 minutes(depending on weather conditions)boat transfer to the whale shark area plus 2 to 3 hours of search and swimming with the sharks you could be returned to Punta Sam around 4 pm.
Return to playa around 5 pm to 6 pm probably you will be at Cozumel around 7 pm to 8 pm.
We recommend an earlier pickup in case is possible the cruise ship allows you to disembark earlier and taking the 7 or 8 am ferry shuttle will be better.
Hope this can help you the next time.
Regards.
